Dr. William Washington is the director of the Master of Science in Public Health Program in the Division of Public Health at Meharry Medical College.

In addition to serving as Director of MSPH program, Dr. Washington teaches two courses in the program, Health Administration and Theses Research.  He earned his DPA and MPA from the University of Southern California and the Master of Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley.  In 1989 he gained the title of Certified Health Education Specialist from the National Commission on Health Education Credentialing, Inc.  Dr. Washington’s research expertise is in the areas of Health Services Administration, Health Promotion and Education and Multicultural Health Practices.  More specifically, over the past five hears he has produced multiple publications focusing on both collaborative research and health disparities; served as reviewer on several committees that reviewed grant proposals and abstracts for potential presentations; and participated as member or presided over various panel discussions focusing on public health research and practice.
