Dr. Jack has over 14 years of public health experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia where he served as a Senior Behavioral Scientist, Community Intervention Section Chief, and Leader of the Applied Behavioral Research, Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Evaluation (ABRESE) Team within the Program Development Branch (PDB) in the Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT). He currently holds two adjunct academic appointments at full-professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine and the Behavioral and Community Health Sciences Program in the School of Public Health at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr. Jack has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has served as guest editor for several special issues and as reviewer or editorial board member for several journals including Diabetes Care, Diabetes Educator, Diabetes Spectrum, Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, Journal of the National Medical Association, American Journal of Public Health, Disease Management and Health Outcomes, and Psychology Health and Disease.
Leonard Jack, Jr., PhD, MSc
Leonard Jack, Jr., PhD, MSc was recently appointed Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences in the College of Public Service at Jackson State University in August 2006. Dr. Jack also holds two academic appointments in the Schools of Health Sciences and Social Work at the rank professor. He is a graduate of Virginia State University (1985) and has both a Master of Science (1987), and PhD (1990) from The Pennsylvania State University in Health Education.
