Gilbert Ramirez, DrPH, is the Director of the Urban MPH Program and Professor, College of Science and Health, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA.
Dr. Ramirez received his doctorate of public health in health services organization from the University of Texas - Houston, School of Public Health and his MPH from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He earned a masters in health care management from Webster University and a bachelors of science in environmental health from East Tennessee State University.
Dr. Ramirez was a career U.S. Army Officer in environmental health sciences and has over 16 years of experience in higher education. His professional work and research are evidence-based methodologies, systematic reviews and meta-analysis. He has held academic positions the University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio, University of North Texas Health Science Center - Fort Worth, Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, a former Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Des Moines University, Iowa prior to his current position and The Charles Drew University.
